Hwy 92 in Southeastern Kentucky is a Nice Route. I rode it recently for the first time, starting at the Junction of Hwy 92 and 25 East near the town of Fourmile. I didn’t start in Pineville because I rode down from the North. When you first start out its mainly big Sweeping turns as you ride through a Valley with nothing but tree covered Hills in the distance. Eventually, as you pass the Junction with Hwy 11 it’s your typical Kentucky back-country road. Rolling Hills and more big Sweepers. Most of the turns were marked for 50 MPH. The pavement was good the whole way. As you get closer and closer to Williamsburg things start to tighten up. You start seeing corners with 35 MPH or less. Much of this section is right along the Cumberland River. Like most good routes in Kentucky, you will be riding along with tall rocky Bluffs on one side of the road, and the other side descending down to a waterway. That’s the way it is right into the town of Williamsburg. Once in town there are plenty of places to eat lunch, your usual Fast Food joints near the Interstate, a couple of local Mexican food restaurants and a Diner called G&E Burgers.
