The Melbourne Run - By Richard L. Thompson

Recently stayed in Mountain View for a few days of Riding in the Area. Hwy 9 between Allison and Melbourne was a high-light of the Trip. It is a beautiful climb up thru the Ozark National Forest. It is well marked and well maintained. The road surface was Excellent. Perfectly smooth asphalt with No cracks or potholes at all. We were able to Ride it in both directions. I actually enjoyed it more than Push Mountain Road which is also in that area. 20 miles of gorgeous road, and you can make a nice loop out of it if you follow Hwy 9 north of Melbourne to Brockwell (Jct with Hwy 56) and follow it over to Calico Rock then back south on Hwy 5 back to Allison.
