Loved our trip to Oatman! A must do, twisties are very fun and not too long.
Finding out it was the honeymoon town of Clark Gable was fun too! We went to
Laughlin after.....continued great time!

Road condition is not the best in some areas but the beautiful scenery, tight twisties and the mining town of Oatman add to the character of this great stretch of road. Very desolate in stretches so pack on the water

a buddy and i are planning on doing a ride through this pass on our Harley's, i was wondering, has anyone had any issues with over heating on their Harleys? or any other mechanical dificulties with their bikes due to the heat or sand or anything?

I did this ride a couple of years ago and was soo blown away by it I even got an Arizona rt 66 tattoo. This is a do for anyone. The Scenery is incredible, lots of tight very tight turns and lots of local flavor. Once a again you have to do this ride!

In May 2009 I rode Route 66 for the second time between Golden Shores and Flagstaff on my way to Sedona. The weather was perfect and the road was great. Lot's to see and you always see other riders. Traffic not bad at all.

It is important to watch for gravel in the sharpest, slowest turns between Kingman and Oatman. This is the most scenic part and cars tend to wander across the centerline. Oatman to Golden Shores is best for sport riding, cleaner and less traveled.

I have taken the route from Laughlin/Bullhead, over to Oatman and up to Kingman MANY times, on several different bikes. Oatman can be a decent stop, but it's best to hit on a weekday... Unless you LIKE all the tourists. The section between Oatman and Kingman has a FUN little stretch of about 10 miles. Some call it Sitgreaves Pass, others call it The Mojave Rattlesnake. There's supposedly 222 turns in that section alone. This can be worth the ride in itself. Check out the Saddle Sore Ranch for some free, rustic biker camping... If you aren't afraid of a few dirt roads.

Great ride from Kingman to Oatman. Watch out for the burros as they rule the streets from 8 to 5. Lots of other rider groups from all over the world visiting so you can have fun getting to know them.

Old West town Oatman is a must stop. Riding out of Oatman the desert is so desolate you would think you were riding on Mars. You finish in Topock at a great bar and grill with a pool attached.
