July 11, 2010 This was a beautiful ride. We adapted it and came south on 38 to see Lake Owasco on the way back. Of note, there are no gas stations between Ithaca and Seneca Falls as you travel up 89.

We did this ride sort of in reverse, started in Auburn and went south on 89 intending to head north along the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake on the way back. The ride along 89 heading south is spectacular, mostly straight run, but some nice turns, and the hills and the scenery are not to be missed. Stop at the Taughanock State Park and view the fall mentioned in the ride description - Awesome!We turned off incorrectly and did not experience the northern route of this ride so we cannot comment on it. But it put us on one of the most breathtaking rides we've ever experienced in the Northeast. We will be posting it for others to enjoy soon!

My wife and I took this route on our way around the finger lakes. Beautiful scenery, great road surface, not a lot of traffic; an excellent ride! The falls are a sight to see; the best time to go is in the spring during the run off.
