I was able to make this ride late in the season after the leaves had already turned. Very beautiful scenic drive. Stopped at Old World Wisconsin. Great place, took 5 hours to go through it. Turned off 67 onto Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive just north of Eagle, and found Main Street Restaurant in Palmyra where I had a ruben omlete.
What a wonderful ride I will do this one again.

Beautiful ride, once you get in to the Kettle Moraine(Delafield, Whitewater, Fort Atkinson) area, signs will guide you through the "scenic" routes - be careful though as there are some dropping turns that can sneak up on ya', but my favorite area to ride.

I agree with Tomb's review. This ride is fantastic heading up through Illinois and into WI. 67 is an absolute joy to ride, and I wish I had spent time in Kettle Moraine. really nice towns along 67 as well. 18 (top part of loop) is wide open but not much scenery. 26 / 51 (West border) are the untimed lights, and no scenery whatsoever - perhaps there's a better road to take back into Illinois? still, this is a good ride and I'm glad that One Arm Willy put it here.

Nice Ride... Mostly Farmland & a few hills & valleys... Road were very good except maybe some parts of Rte 12... I did cut over thru Waterwater to eat at Randy's Restaurant & FunHunters Brewery... All in all not a bad little trip

The ride up is great. The winding and scenic drive thru Kettle Moraine state park is a 5. Once you turn off route 67 onto route 18 this route degenerates into a boring and flat ride home punctuated with untimed stop lights. I rate the route after the state park a 1 wich eqaulizes the whole route out to a 3. My suggestion: Spend some time riding every scenic route through the state park, get some lunch, turn around go back the way you came. I know I will next time.

While I haven't ridden all of this loop yet, I've ridden parts of it. IL-76/WI-140 is my standard bypass route to avoid the toll road on I-90 on my way to Milwaukee (a trip I've taken almost every year for about a decade). It's obvious from the half mile jog at the state line that the Illinois and Wisconsin road planners weren't on the same page.
BTW, the loop is about 156 miles (according to H-D Ride Planner), not 256K miles from the description. Ride Planner says about 3 3/4 hours total riding time for the entire loop.
