Written Directions
To get to the beginning of the route, take Hwy T from Foristell, MO south for 9.5 miles to the intersection with Hwy D, then east on Hwy D for 0,7 miles to the intersection with Cappeln Osage Road, or take Hwy D south from New Melle, MO for 4.1 miles to the intersection with Cappeln Osage Road. Head south on Cappeln Osage Road for 0,4 miles. Turn right onto Cappeln Osage Road for 0.4 miles, then turn left to stay on Cappeln Osage Road. Continue for 3.4 miles to the intersection with Hwy T.
Scenery
The first mile or so of the route is through open farm fields, but then it dives into some deep woods, then a mix of tree-lined road and clearings, before dropping down into the Femme Osage Creek valley, through the village of Femme Osage, then through woods again to the end of the route.
Drive Enjoyment
While the first mile or so is straight (with a few 90 degree intersection turns) and level, after that it becomes curvy and hilly for the remainer of the route. The road is county-maintained and was repaved with rolled asphalt a couple of years ago.
Tourism Opportunities
While there isn't really anything on the route itself (although there is a B&B, the Femme Osage Haus, in Femme Osage), it is near to towns of New Melle, Dutzow, and Augusta.
Motorcycle Road Additional info
This is a nice alternative to Hwy T between Hwy D and Femme Osage.
