Written Directions
The route starts at the western end of OK-144, at the intersection with US-271, south of Clayton, OK. Head east on OK-144 for approximately 36.5 miles to the intersection with US-259, north of Smithville, OK.
Scenery
The route follows the natural rolling hills of this part of Oklahoma, with a mix of open fields and woods, with some nice panoramic views of the valleys from the tops and bluffs of the ridges.
Drive Enjoyment
The route is mostly rolled asphalt, with (in 2024) some significant patching (a mix of asphalt and chip-and-seal patches). It's very much a cruising road, without any technically difficult sections, rolling hills and sweeping turns, with numerous long straight sections.
Tourism Opportunities
There aren't really any tourist sights or amenities along this route; it's located in a very rural area of the state.
